AGO OLYMPIC PENINSULA CHAPTER PROGRAMS
2022

From the Program Chair

Greetings -   Now that we have put away the Christmas music we can take a deep breath and look forward to a promising New Year.  Two important events are on the horizon.

Mark your February calendar now - we have a workshop scheduled for February 26th, Saturday, from 10 AM - noon.  Our new youth member Noah Smith will guide us through preparation and repertoire planning for Holy Week through Easter Sunday.  I have had a sneak peek at part of the session, and you will not want to miss this presentation, or the opportunity to meet this extremely accomplished, personable organist, teacher, composer and performer.  We will gather in the sanctuary of 1st Lutheran Church in Poulsbo and work with the Bond organ.  Miriam Haddon has secured permission for the event, and we are very grateful for her generous efforts.

The Board will meet a half hour before the event to continue our discussions from the November on-line meeting.  We may still have to abide by Covid restrictions but that won't stop the "elbow hugs" and masked grins.

Remember to register early for the national convention SEA 2022 - early registration and the best prices for registration and hotel accommodations end Jan. 31st.  The list of workshops is in the latest American Organist or you can get information on agoseattle2022.com.  Current double queen room rates at the hotel are $179 for early registrants.  It will be lovely to have the rest of the country made aware of the wealth of organs and organists the northwest has to offer.

If you have motions for the Board or suggestions - or a really good cookie recipe - feel free to call or email me.

Wishing you well-tuned keyboards, easy page turns and a joyous new year.

Terry Reitz
